an opposite is the inverse of the initial.
traditionally, the opposite of day is night. you take the semiotic signified idea of day and relate it to it's metaphysical oppositional concept of night.
to find the true opposite, one must not only find the actual semiotic opposite of the initial, but also subvert the expectation of the metaphysical opposite. true opposites don't relate only to the semiotic opposite of the idea but also to the expectation of whomever is deciphering the opposite. for instance, the true opposite of day would be morning.
thinking of true opposites is one of the most effective ways of breaking down your relationship with the symbols of linguistics. true opposites exist for you to try and detach your expectations from the metaphysical realities of stuff. [i.e. a collection of all matter, ideas, concepts, et cetera]
distancing yourself from the signifier and the sign, allows you to focus on the signified.
detaching your ideas of relationalism from words, allows you to focus on the oneness.
connectedness is harmful.
solitariness is wonderful.
